Boat insurance rates that can save you money.
You may qualify for one or more of our discounts:
- Transferring your policy to American Modern. If you’re currently insured with another carrier, we’ll give you a 15% discount just for switching to us.
- Owning a newer boat. If your boat is new to 3 model years old, you get a 10% discount. If your boat is 4-6 model years old, you get 5% off our rate. (Not available in all states.)
- Ownership experience. If you’ve owned and operated a boat for at least three years, you get a 10% discount.
- Being claim-free at renewal. If at policy renewal you haven’t had any claims in the past year, you receive a 10% discount.
- Owning a diesel-fueled boat. 5% discount.
Our discounts are cumulative, so if you qualify for more than one, they all count.
Other ways you could save on boat insurance:
To make your life a bit easier, we also offer:
- Diminishing deductible. This is an optional coverage that lowers your deductible 25% for each year you remain claim-free. Be a safe boater, and in five years you'll have a zero deductible.
- Multiple deductible options. Choose a higher deductible amount to pay a lower premium.
- Payment options. You can pay your premium with a check or a major credit card. Many customers can also choose to pay in installments. See your boat insurance payment options or ask your agent.
