Ways to Save on Vacant Home Insurance

There are several ways you can save with American Modern vacant property insurance:

  • Take advantage of our recently reduced premiums for vacant property insurance. In some states, you can now save up to 25% over last year’s rate.
  • You can lower your premiums by choosing a higher deductible. Deductible options include $1,000, $1,500, $2,500, and $5,000.
  • If you believe your property will be vacant for less than a year, you can get a 3-month or 6-month policy term.  This way, you avoid paying a full year's premium and having to wait to get your money back when you cancel the vacant policy.

Other ways to preserve cash flow:

  • Our pro-rated cancellation means you get a refund if you sell your house or someone moves in mid-policy term and you no longer need a vacant property insurance policy.  The amount of the refund is subject to the balance on your policy, as well as the minimum earned premium amount where allowed by law.
  • Major renovations already in process are accepted at no additional charge.  Some carriers charge you extra if your home is undergoing significant changes.
  • Payment options.  You can pay your premium with a check or a major credit card.  Many customers can also choose to pay in installments.  See your vacant insurance payment options or ask your agent.
